We got home about 6:30. It was a nice uneventful ride, with not much traffic. I didn't even get sleepy. I yakked and listened then yakked somemore. The week was awesome, and I really enjoyed getting to spend some time with my 4 kids there. Back to the real world tomorrow. Yeah!! Also to the dentist!! Yeah!! Looking in the rear view mirror and seeing the last of Pikes Peak is always a sort of sad time for me. Glad to be home, lots to do, work. I will sure be glad when things kind of get back to normal around here, whatever that is.

Yesterday Jerry, Joel, Jennifer and I went to the place my family lived from about 1963 to 1967. It is Coal Creek Canyon, over by Golden. I explored the old grade school there. My childhood friend, Virginia Binkley's house is still there a ways from the school playground. It definitely does not look the same, but the pond is still there with the dock. We went up to our old house. It definitely does not look the same, but has had several improvements. Unfortunately the fireplace isn't one of them. They have taken all the rock off the inside that we worked so hard to put on. They have put a spiral staircase in where the boys used to sleep and put a master bedroom and bath in a new upstairs. They have added a really nice size kitchen and dining area, with windows all around. The old barn is still there. The yard is sure smaller than I remember it. The people were really nice, and I appreciate them letting us come in and look around.

Good Evening Everyone,
Joel, Jennifer and I went to work today. The first house was in Canon City. I helped clean up the doggie stuff and broke out some windows with Jennnifer, so that Joel could replace them. I also helped Joel board up the shed and helped Jennifer pick up broken glass inside it. We went and took stuff to the dump, man oh man it did stink. At the next house Joel had me mow the lawn while he weedeated. They have a zero radius turn mower, a Grasshopper. It was interesting, I wasn't too great at it, but I got used to it. It started raining about 3/4 of the way done. We got pretty wet. At the next house, we replaced the drain pipe in the laundry room, and boarded up the old dryer vent, while Joel mowed the lawn. He was soaked to the skin by the time he was done. At least he won't have to go back tomorrow, because he got everything done.
When we got home, we made tuna casserole and Jerry & Shelby came over for supper. It's time for a nice hot bath and bed. TTYL

We spent the evening at Jerry & Shelby's. We had Spaghetti and salad, and for dessert Ice Cream Cake. It's always crazy when those 4 are around. Shelby had a sonogram today. There were some good pictures of that little girl.
Well, I'm in beautiful Colorado for the rest of the week. I arrived on Mother's Day. Because the person I was going to ride out with had to wait to come on Thursday, I am getting to spend a whole week with my kids. J & J made a quick necessary trip back to town, and told me I could ride out with them. It has been really nice to be with all of them. These are the flowers that Jerry and Shelby brought me. We all went out to eat and they bought my supper. J & J bought my eats on the way out.

Monday we went out and saw Uncle Philip and Aunt Shirley. We looked around downtown BV. Not too much that is our speed. That is pretty much all we did on Monday.

Tuesday we ran and did some necessary, getting ready for Ellis, shopping. Colorado Springs is so spread out that it took the majority of the day.

Wednesday was project and nap day. We worked on curtains for the nursery, back door and kitchen. We are going to make a pad for the window seat in JJ's room today or tomorrow. It snowed a little bit off and on. By evening the porch and rails were lightly covered. The ground not so much. Yesterday was a relaxing day, we even took a nap!!! JJ & I vegged in the evening with soup for supper and a movie to boot, "Enchanted". It was "guys night" at Jerry & Shelby's.

My sleeping partners when I got to my room last night, Kitty, and Bitty. They didn't crowd too much.
