Well we are into the thick of moving in. We removed a coat closet from the dining room by the front door. We have removed an overhead cabinet between the kitchen and dining room. It opens it up sooooo much! We had the carpets put in the bedrooms first thing, the living and dining rooms got new dark hand scrubbed engineered hardwood floors, and today we are getting the vinyl flooring in the kitchen and sun room. JD and Soni helped get the flooring down in the living and dining rooms. JD and I have removed all the insulation and crap, (not a euphemism) from the south half the basement ceiling. Soni helped me finish putting up the miniblinds last night. David removed the weeds from in front of the basement patio. He put up his new mailbox. We will paint the mailbox post in the next few days. We were able to leave it up in front of the house and the mailman just comes up the drive to deliver the mail. There are so many little projects to do, some kind of big ones, and some huge ones too.
Mom and Tim are here now, and seem to be adjusting OK. The country life is definitely for me. I have enjoyed every sunrise, sunset, moonrise and moon set. We have seen bluebirds flitting around on the deck outside the dining room windows, deer moving across the backyard in the mornings, turkeys out in the fields, and crows galore!
We had 17 for a low last night. It was cold enough that the leaves that are left are at the mercy of the wind and are slowly tumbling to the ground. We had beautiful jack frost art work on the hoods and tops of the vehicles, at least until the sun peaked around the corner of the house and slowly changed them to mush and drips on the ground.
