What's going on?
I have finally posted the birthday pictures, and I waited so long to do it that Ellis has had his 1st birthday. Piper's is coming up in less than a month, I will post those pictures quicker, now that I have more time.
We have been busy, and after 20 years and 2 months of working at McDonald's I have quit and I am now a stay-at-home wife. It is extremely nice to be able to not have to work around my work schedule to do necessary things. Dr. appointments. and such are easier to plan, and I have even gotten to do some relaxing things.
As I type, we are in Colorado with Jennifer, Joel, Jerry, and Ellis. We are here to help out Jennifer after a surgery. Joel's dad has had some serious health problems, so he went back to Kansas the day before we were to come out here. Jim is in the VA hospital and has not yet waken up from sedation. He is having trouble with kidney and liver problems stemming from medication they are using to fight off an infection in his blood stream. Joel came back home yesterday. He is getting updates from the doctors as soon as there are any. We are having a good time and beautiful weather. We went to a seminar on Saturday about packing horses and mules. It was very interesting, and the guys that did the seminar parallel it to our Christian walk and the need for God's Salvation. Church was good yesterday, and it was a relaxing day with cloudy, rainy skies in the afternoon and snoozing. Yesterday the 28th was my Daddy's birthday. He has been gone almost 18 years. I sure miss him, and when I come to Colorado I think of him a lot. This was his favorite place.
We have had bears for the last 2 nights. The first night it was a rather large one tearing into the trash barrels and spreading trash down the hill. Last night it was a mother and a cub. When I first saw them I could see the cub behind Joel's truck, then it jumped up onto the tree and climbed up about a foot. We scared them off and they didn't come back.
I'll try and post again in a day or two. I enjoy posting and keeping up with a journal of some sort.
